Emily Daquano is an enthusiastic teacher-musician with a love for inspiring people to learn through the arts.  She has particular interests in voice pedagogy and education, choral singing, musical theatre, community music, and music and arts programming.  She strives to create arts programs for participants to develop their musical skills and education, voice-building, community-building, and teamwork and collaboration skills.

Emily earned her Master’s of Arts in Community Music at Wilfrid Laurier University (2018), and maintains a private voice and theory studio in Hamilton, Ontario.  She holds an Honours Bachelor of Music Education in Voice from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto.

As a supporter of community music, Emily has been involved with many community theatre and music groups across the GTA and Hamilton. From 2016-2023 she was the conductor of the Training and Junior Choirs at the Mississauga Children's Choir. She has music directed and choreographed productions for youth theatre including Aladdin, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Oliver!Peter PanThe Wizard of OzNewsiesShrekThe Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.  

In 2017 Emily founded an adult community recreational glee club 'Port Credit Glee', (now called Glee Social Club). This group is aimed at adults over 19 to participate in group singing in a glee meets cabaret style. Participants are given opportunities to sing as much or as little as they would like given their own unique skills and comfort level. Participants may also be given opportunities to showcase their creativity by staging or choreographing musical numbers to be performed at the end of term showcase.
